Cooking with Different Cultures and Learning About their Food

The programme for Monday 12 December is 'Cooking with Different Cultures'. This particular 'Cooking Pot' event in partnership with DOC and the Goodwin Development Trust.

We have in the menu 'Iraqui Biryani' and 'Persian Fesenjoon'. A group of ladies will give a demonstration on how to cook these traditional receipes and there will be an opportunity to learn about their cultures and traditions. The programme starts at 12:30pm at the Community Enterprise Centre.

To supplement these exciting dishes we will have the Russian Community giving us a demonstration on how to prepare a traditional Ukrainian salad based on potatoes, beetroot and other vegetables known as Vinegret. If you want to know more about Eastern European salads please visit the Russian Community on www.facebook.com/HullRussianCommunity.

Gvants Lakh Kushia will be preparing traditional Indian deserts to round out a day of international cooking with a sweet taste.

For further details please contact Abel or Rasul (HANA) on 01482 491177, Wendy (DOC) on 01482 441002 or Suhaila (Goodwin Development Trust) on 07973938340.

Please come along, the programme is open to the general public and free, although donations are welcome. We hope you will enjoy the day!
