Successful Art Exhibition Attracts Visitors

The successful opening of the art exhibition 'Colours Speak All Languages' attracted a number of visitors to appreciate the work and contributions of local artists from the diverse communities of Hull. The exhibition is now in its second day, and has attracted visitors from as far as Leeds, Goole and Bridlington. The comments made by visitors to the exhibition highlight the importance of community art and the ethnic elements that make their work unique and connects them with the vibrant multi-ethnic life of the City of Hull.

Artists Andy Wauldby, Sergei Belov and Esteban Tejo Cifuentes bring colours to life to communicate cultural meaning from the perspective of different ethnic backgrounds.

One of the visitors with an art background wrote:

"An interesting collection displaying very varied techniques, styles and attitudes. It is stimulating to observe how 'ordinary' objects/people can become springboards for the imagination - leading to abstractions, interpretations in the realm of fantasy and intensity of observation from the artist. The ethnic stimuli add another dimension - bold colours vie with subtetly and textures create unexpected dephts.

This is a worthy enterprise promoting work by local artists whilst reflecting minority modes of thought."

Another visitor to the exhibition shared her experience in the following manner:

"It is a great exhbition of three different artists of different cultural background but having much in common by being very talented and inspirational. We attended with our friends and spent an unforgettable evening, getting in touch with art and artists.

I hope we will see more of these interesting paintings at exhibitions like this. Thank you very much to all organisers of this event. It was enjoyable and of high level".

The exhibition 'Colours Speak All Languages' will remain closed on Sunday but will re-open on Monday. Entrance is free and all works displayed are for sale. For further information please contact HANA on 01482 491177 and ask for Rasul Ahmadi.
