Celebrating Black History Month at the Wolds Prison
HANA helps the Wolds to celebrate Black History Month. On 31st October, Hope Gospel Choir and the Abusua Ghanaian musicians provided a cultural afternoon with African drumming and gospel songs from the Congo. The audience was very diverse and engaged with the musicians in discussion and cultural learning. The musicians were delighted to share Black History Month with inmates and staff of the Wolds Prison. This is one of the many ways that HANA works with the whole population to provide cultural awareness and understanding. This is an excellent example of how members of HANA assist in lifting spirits and improving the wellbeing of the BME population.
